The Story Behind PawfectClip
From the grooming salon to your smartphone
Chuck Adkins, the founder of PawfectClip and Owner of Ridge Dog Shop in Richmond, Virginia has thousands of happy clients and the occasional unhappy one. A pattern of miscommunication between the groomers and the clients was recognized as a pain point.
“Clients would tell us ‘Just a little shorter than last time, but not much’, the groomers would point to a hair chart and ask the client ‘Would you like me to use a #4 or #5 blade?’; they were speaking in two different languages. It led to frustrations on both sides. If not enough was taken off, we would redo the haircut for free, leading to workflow issues. If too much was taken off, we may refund the entire visit to retain the customer and protect our reputation.”
The breaking point came when a loyal customer gave a negative review after changing the haircut style and they were unhappy with the results of the new look. Chuck knew that his team needed a new way for customers and groomers to share the exact same vision for each clip.
That is when PawfectClip was born. A simple app that allows dog owners to create, modify, and save their desired doggie haircut and share it with any groomer, anywhere. The owners will know exactly what the haircut will look like on their dog, and the groomers know perfectly how to execute it.
Today PawfectClip is used by thousands of happy pet owners and groomers around the country, eliminating unexpected haircut results; ensuring that each cut is the PawfectClip.
